I like how it looks like bleeding eye sockets. Very haunting.
I can't believe no-one has made a "mushroom" joke yet....
Interesting place.
To know something as breathtaking as this has probably been destroyed makes me sick. A grand photo, Mr. Motts, simply grand.
This is a very beautiful shot, Mr. Motts. The angle, lighting and color are flawless to the eye. True "eye candy".
Motts, do you by any chance use a 'vivid' filter/setting on your camera?
I ask because its the only way I've ever gotten results like this.
My mother wore braces similar to this in her childhood/teen years. I've seen old photos of her with them on, and they sure look painful.
Quite a photo here, Mr. Motts.
A wonderful shot, Mr. Motts. I do hope you don't mind if I post a bit of inspired prose:

"Come now, little one, just a simple bandage is all." the Dr. said.
"Okay," sniffled the girl, "but I'm not gonna look!"
The Doctor laughed warmly as he continued with his gentle care.
While it's pretty, all I can think of when I see this is 'spiderwebs'. Lots and lots of spiderwebs *shiver*
Just been bumming around your site today, enjoying the galleries. This photo really did make me shiver! Goodness....
*nod* I get it now. Thanks, Mr. Motts. Your photos have inspired me to do some studying on the history of old buildings in my area.
And I don't know if you celebrate it or not, but Merry Christmas to you and yours :)
Why would a state hospital have a theater?
I'd like to think the white is peeling away to reveal the pretty blue color. A wonderful photo, Mr. Motts. Your site made me ask my mom about the days when she worked in a sanitarium. She didn't have too many freaky stories, though. :(
While it's a wonderful photo, I cannot see the 'she' that others are referring to. Is there a woman's face within this photo?
