Ash, this wasn´t a childrens hospital as far as I know, though I don´t know if there have been young patients too.

I also wonder why there are children on both illustrations - this place doesn´t seem to house children as patients. And I don´t know why there is this focus on wounded arms, too. Sure TB can affect the bones but why always arms?

I hate graffiti in abandoned buildings. I like graffiti everywhere else, if it´s a good one, but I really hate it in places like these.

I also thought that they are not that nonhazardous. These machines have radioactive material inside thats dangerous even when they´re off, even more of there´s anything broken inside.

It was mentioned some comments before - is it possible to catch TB after such a long time?
I really don´t know and thats something I´m always asking myself when I see pics from TB-hospitals.

Someone should send this pic to a duct tape producer - it would be a great idea for an ad!

Amazing what rich and lively discussions arise from these pictures.
You take an Urbex-Picture and next moment find yourself in the middle of a discussion about the treatment of mentally ill and the history of psychiatry. How exciting!

Brain sugery is still a treatment in Psychiatry, e.g. for nontreatable epilepsy. And fixation is sometimes necessary to protect the stuff and the patient himself.
As Navi mentioned, it does not necessarily mean abuse or torture.

dme - I´ve never heart about any connection between schizophrenia and dizzyness, but I can tell you that it is totally normal that things that didn´t make you dizzy as a child do make you feel sick as an adult. And, sad enough, schizophrenia can develop through you whole life. There are types that develop during your teen years, but there are types that develop in adulthood or even in childhood (early onset schiziphrenia, which is even the worse type of it).

But because your post is now nearly three years old you probably won´t read it anymore ;)

Sad enough the only thing that will come across will be the wrecking ball.
Except for some weird photographers of course :)

Copper thiefs are one deadly threat to abandoned buildings. The only good thing - if you unintentionally meet them while exploring they normally don´t care about you, in contrast to security..
