Those bottles look like the ones they used for shampoo that the pharmacy use to fill .

Not sure what building this was taken in if i knew i could tell you what it was . Probally a dayhall for an old Chronic ward or maybe TB unit .

The Salmon building use to be maximuim security until 1972 at Norwich Hospital . They closed that and moved the dangerous clients to Middletown Whiting Forensic .

This is the old administration building . All the records when they closed the place were shredded Ronnie . Depends where your aunt was etc .

More than likely the cat was a stray who found its way into the building after it closed. It was probably old or sick, found itself a comfortable place, and waited for the inevitable. The discoloration around the bones is the volatile fatty acid stain left behind when a body decomposes. Insects, etc. probably picked the bones clean long ago...

jane, these buildings were built in 1919 and were state-of-the-art then. Everyone used multi-story assembly plants, even Henry Ford. And IH didn't shut down most of it's operations for good. They still build trucks under the International name and Case New Holland bought the off-road operations.

You'll notice that the end grain is visible in all the blocks. Wood can handle more load in that direction. I worked for Avanti in the mid-80's in an ex-Studebaker facility about a block away from the this one. It had the same flooring, and if you didn't watch your step you could easily turn an ankle.
