Lynne, da'link, you might want to see a doctor about those smears.

As for "rust" or "blood" ... I'm leaning towards Karo Syrup, four drops of red food colouring with one drop of blue. "In Dreams" was a psychological thriller / horror film consisting of a lot of vivid, violent dream sequences (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120710/) where the heroine dreamt the killer's crimes before they occured.

To see the trailer, go here:

However, if it's not stage blood, I'll cast my vote for rust. You see it all over the place in cities like San Fransisco, Bremerton and other "port" cities.

Katryna - People who were admitted to these institutions were mentaly ill long before they entered the doors. Do you honestly believe that these buildings in their now abandoned state looked the same when they were the homes to hundreds, if not thousands, of mentally ill people? Or would you rather they were wandering the streets, uncared for and unmedicated ... arguing with the air or even more demeaning behaviour? At least in these hospitals they were fed, sheltered and counciled by people who, for the vast majority, wanted to help them be what society considered "passibly normal" at the time. Granted, there were a few exceptions, but I'd rather not go there.

All of Mr. Motts' photos we consider art. We're kind of like that.

As for how steep the stairs are ... is it just me, or does it look like the last person who went down those stairs didn't take their attitude into consideration and ended up crashing to the bottom, breaking the boards below?

Baphomet? Isn't that the name of a demon? Sorry ... I'm severely falling behind in my "Satanic Bible" school teachings.

Still don't like 'em, but thanks for the clarification, Ginsu Victim. I just know the original black & white Night of the Living Dead scared the crap out of me and I've turned off every zombie film I've come across since.

"why is it when people see a pentagram they automatically think it's the sighn of something satanic?"

Actually, it wasn't the penticle that made me think of this being "Satanic." It was the altar with the demon head, the robed 'priests' and the obvious female sacrafice. The penticle was kind of secondary, there.

I don't think the person who painted the mural was really all that up on his Occult Mythology and Symbolism. Eh, either way, it's not something I'd expect to see on a "kid's" ride. Which is why I come here, right? To see that which I don't expect to see.
