strange that as i looked over staff that previously worked at pennhurst that some have transfered to another state to a similiar hospital, but yet these goings on were known to staff of neglect etc, people should ask questions especially if american, your country,

Dear starduster can you give any info in relation to your time at pennhurst As you said you had good times and memories but did you feel anything untoward was going on while you worked there or did staff ever express any fears for patients etc ,, Did staff speak up, from an interested party from across the seas,,... always watching..

In my youth all my friends and I would go up there for a few days...camp where we could...But on another note-we found beds, complete with dressers in some of those old concrete structures...we thought we were being watched on more than a few occasions...back then about thirty years ago there was not too much of a homeless problem in Rockland..we thought they were criminals from nearby NYC...people did LIVE there...

Amazing one of a kind photo. I am a very curious person who loves exploring places too. In the process I've opened many things I probably shouldn't have but I wouldn't open that thing up for a mint full of money!

This looks like a Story & Clark or a Thomas Organ. It's not a Hammond. I know because I was a music major in collage. Hammond had the slide bars. They were know for there ability the change pitch with just a touch.

For the past ten years I've worked with gentlemen that have come from that ghastly place, and I thank God that organizations like Refocus, Gateways to Change and West Bay Residentials exist.

Reminds me of my first time in prison. The place had formerly been an insane asylum. Today it is Eastern Ore. Correctional Inst. located in Pendleton,Ore. Anyway the toilets were just like photo except there were no dividers! It was supposed to be haunted. I had a job washing dishes in kitchen. It was connected with the tunnels that most of the old institutions had. It was a creepy place.

If Gennies story is true, the people responsible for her torture should have been imprisoned and tortured in the same way. eye for an eye. Aside from that the pictures are great.
