Aw...lonely piano shot. I bet this sounded gorgeous in its hey-day. It is so sad to see such a beautiful instrument of art be forgotten and left to rot. :(
I love the white door. It really draws your eyes towards it and then down the white hallway. It is odd to see white in a place like this it seems because they seemed to prefer pepto pinks, bovine browns or gross greens. :)
This is a very lonely shot. I can't imagine looking out the window as Larry said, just thinking about family on the "outside" perhaps and hearing people outside (nurses or others going off-shift) and feeling so sad and trapped...
Uh...December 1974 I was just getting ready to turn 6 years old. I was in Kindergarten and life was paste, crayons, and markers and lots of colored paper to make art for my mommy. I don't remember what the fashions were at that time as I had NO say in what I wore, but I do remember the funky music of the time. My mom and her first husband were still together and I remember them going out to the disco on Saturday nights and how the babysitter used to come and watch me and my then year-old brother, and how we used to watch Good Times and M*A*S*H and Fantasy Island on TV until it was time to go to bed. I remember the babysitter letting me stay up just a little later to watch TV with her. :) I wouldn't trade my childhood for anything. :)
Eh...I think I will pass going down these steps! They seem awfully steep and I don't want to meet anything that is waiting down there for me....like (whispers) zombies!
Holy hannah Mr. Motts!! I bet you messed a pair of good jockeys (or tighty-whities) that day! I am glad you escaped because if you didn't...we wouldn't have these wonderful Motts galleries to look at!
I can't make out what is written on the wall either. It doesn't look like the English language so perhaps it is just scribblings of a bored soul like Ferdy said.
I can just imagine myself wandering around this room...lsickly, lonely, and just...lost. What a sad feeling that gives me to think of all the souls that were here and how medicine (and psychiatry) has changed since this place was in use...
OK...see that form by the far door? Doesn't that look like someone sort of lounging by the door...sitting on something with one knee up and the head bent a little? Or is that just me?
It's an Inkblot Test lol!
I see...TREES...and a MAN...and...well...pretty bunnies hopping around the ceiling. (Too much?)
