The first fax machine was created by Alexander Bain, an inventor from Scotland. He received a patent for his invention in 1843, before the telephone was invented. Though this was more than 100 years before it became a part of every day life.

I have look pedals on my road bike and mountain bike pedals on my mountain bike. I wouldn't much like having to use toe clips.

French cyclist born on the 22nd of January 1885 in Paris, Eugène Christophe is viewed as the inventor of the toe-clip. In 1925, he sold his invention to Poutrait-Morin (known now as Zéfal), and was the Director of the company until his death in 1970. Since then, Zéfal never stopped selling these legendary Christophe toe-clips. Sold by pair.

The tour de france began in 1903 so they rode it all those years w/o clips! Of course they smoked and drank wine as they rode too. Before it became serious sport.
