Been a while since I posted too, a couple of years, anyway. Glad to see the post from Pat Ratchet. I would love to get a copy of his book on Ware. Pat, please let us know when it is out. Congrats on finishing it.

Thanks, Christina. Happy New Year to everyone, PR, wanderer, Celeste, you and others. Hope Halcyon survives another year.

Is anyone familiar with this site? http://www.adventurebi...tt-school-for-girls/ I just found this.

Wanderer, have you visited Halcyon yet? Let us know what you see and any photos that you might take. Pat, let us know how your book is going. I'd love to read it. Hope all is well with everyone.

Another note: Wasn't the above on the Opening Night at Halcyon Hall posted by Pat, an article in the New York Times of that time? If you Google Halcyon Hall, I believe it might come up.

Wonderful description, Pat, of what must have been an amazing event. Very elegant description of the women's gowns. Will this be in the book on Ware? I'd love to read it. There is a blog called BIg Old Houses. It gives some descriptions and photos of Halcyon in 2011. PR are you familiar with this? Since Halcyon Hall was at that time a hotel, it must have attracted much of NY society of that time. Keep us posted on everything.

No, astral project, it never had any links to a nunnery of any sort. This was not family house, but a prestigious women's college. It went bankrupt in the late 1970's and closed.

Sorry to burst your bubble, Trevor, but the place is not haunted. Never was. Since no one ever died there. What you heard was the building collapsing on itself and bits falling down. As buildings deteriorate, they make noises. Read Celeste's post of 11/05/12

Wow! What a lot of interesting information! Got to admire Pat for all his hard work on Ware. I'd love to read the book and any websites that pertain. A true labor of love! Same for Christina and all her work on putting Bennett stuff together. Interesting to see when all this comes together. Same for wanderer. Hope Halcyon can hang in there a little longer.
Christina, there is an interesting site called Hudson Valley demolition. Halcyon is mentioned in 2010, but nothing since. I keep looking there for updates. Are you familiar with this site?
I've been here for a while also. Take care.

Must have been magical seeing Halcyon in the summer moonlight. Was that the "supermoon" ? Even more so.
