Long time reader of this website, I rarely comment. I just wanted to point out a little translation-error in the second picture of the presentation of this hospital. "Verande dei padiglioni <tranquille>." correctly translates into: "Verandas of the <tranquil [female]> wards.". I've been living in Italy for 22 years and I could say that Italian, along with Spanish, is my mother tongue, so I'm sure of this. Ok, back to watching this awesome gallery ;)

I don't know, mammabear. I live in Europe and I have to say you don't see "plenty of old structures like this". Were you referring to a country/city/area in particular that maybe could represent an exception? Anyway asbestos was used a lot here, like anywhere else, I guess.

Hey, don't you forget this place was used as a hotel (and a luxurious one, from what I could read) and a sort of "spa/wellness/health" resort. That's why there are decorative balconies (some pictures before) and thin glass doors. ;)
