What a dynamic shot. I love the contrast of light and shadow and the different levels.

It's so modern looking. And those black tiles are so DURABLE. I want some of them for my house.

You're right -- it's kind of discordant -- like they couldn't make up their minds whether to be a hospital, a school or a resort.

It looks like they were tossed there to cover a hole in the floor.

I can't even begin to imagine HOW they did it -- and made it all come out even. I'd love to learn how (I think) ;)

It's late. I should be getting to bed; yet here I sit, staring at this door nestled in all this softly lit greenery. I want to go in. You do set up a beautiful shot, Motts.

I can just imagine myself prowling around this quiet, decaying building, listening to the silence, thinking about the people no longer there, then -- CRACK! -- a tile falls off the wall right next to me. And so I leave an interesting skid mark on the floor as I run out the nearest exit, be it a door, window or hole in the wall -- WHOOOOOEEEEEEE!!

Thank you for the beautiful photos. I agree with ferdy. It feels like I've been on a trip not only through the building, but through time as well.

It says a lot about the attention to detail that went into this building. All the masses of people that passed through, but how few of them would ever get to see this. Thank you for the look/see.

Can you imagine what it must have been like to work here? Who was the last one in this room? Did he stop and look back once more before closing the door behind himself for the last time? I can almost hear the footsteps fading away.

I'm thinking of how it must have been to be one of the workers who built it. Each of them had a story, too. And each brick/tile had to be placed just right to make the pattern come out right. How long did it take, how did they do it; and where did they go when they were done?
