Amazing to just find a lone grave marker in the woods from 100ish years ago, and then be able to gather such information just pushing buttons in the home. Amazing that I watched the concept go from totally unheard of to being a reality. Very cool.

Homes for $1 or $10 is not that unusual. Many municipalities have done it. It works out to get the properties productive on the tax roles. The buyers have to screened though. As motts points out, all kinds of folks will come running waving a dollar, but they must also have the means to move the property forward.

Every block around this place was packed solid with houses. Many thousands of families were supported by this monster complex for decades. What's left now? Oh look, there's some firewood on the floor to keep warm at night. Sleep tight, don't let the zombies bite.

The massive reinforced concrete construction of this place made demolition a daunting task. Giant solid monolith complex that was made to be there forever.
