The last place I was in had these brightly-colored, square plastic chairs like the ones you might see in preschool, only adult-size. They were always cold and uncomfortable.

Anyone want to know what the chairs in the hallways were for? Hint: They aren't for the patients.

Nothing has changed much. This is the same sort of schedule we had when I was in the hospital, though "recreation" often meant sitting around the courtyard or walking around the gym or just watching movies.

WOW! I attended college at NYIT from 92-96, and i always felt especially in the Sunburst bldg there were souls crying out. The academic bldgs always felt unusual with the glass windows, the cold echos, and lonesome hallways. You felt as though you were being examined. Sadly when I returned a couple of years ago, despite the local developments, some of the campus grounds look unkept and I know some horrible truth of the lives that remains ring out from the grounds there as well as though released into a society that was not prepared for them.
Your photos are literally bringing tears to my eyes (and to think after all these years I'm studying to psychology-to ensure cruelty never happens again to those who suffer mentally and emotionally)

"Other" might be alcohol (often listed as ETOH). I'm surprised it's not on the list. Or maybe things like insulin, arsenic, anti-freeze...

The dour daily medication times also do not mean that every patient got medication at each med pass. Some might only get medication once or twice a day, or perhaps several medications in the morning and only one medication at night.
wow.Just wow.
