I spent a good many hours in the 50's and 60's crawling, climbing around these concrete monuments. The stairs were somewhat passable but rotting away. Near there somewhat west of the main wall was the remains of a Fresh Air camp used in the 30s the pool was all choked with trees.

Any one with half an active imagination could conjure all sorts of games to play in the ruins.

They will never develop that area. It is State Park Land. I am going for the 1st time ever tomorrow. Very excited. I heard of this place as a kid and was always curious. Never thought it was ever like this. I thought it was very very run down and actually underground. So I never bothered. Nor did I ever hear about it from other people. I went to TZ HS too.
darryl,
I believe that Motts is brave enough to enter into the tunnels, and he has a good camera =)

Is this natural light seeping through cracks? It's so symmetrical it's hard to believe. I really like this photo.

I love how just a small air hole on the tunnel can make it seem so much less claustrophobic than if there were none at all.
