I used to go to shows here in the 1960's. My mother worked at this hospital for years. The patients would put on variety shows and here were movie nights The whole place was a city unto itself. Had its own power plant, farm, bakery, wood shops, etc. Not the best of all worlds but now the chronically mentally ill live on the streets.

Thanks for the info! I don't recall seeing sandbags, but I'm not familiar with rigging equipment so it may have been overlooked. It also might have been salvaged.

The hospital was closed proper in 1996, however some of these buildings were closed for quite some time before then, I would guess sometime in the 1970s-1980s.
