i really think you saved the very best for last
were the doors of the old rollback design?
it is sad that so much has been lost in our young country before appreciation was given to the wonderful design of so many of these old places
it took me a minute to see it great!
nothing can make something decay with such artistry as mother nature
the lack of graffiti makes this gallery wonderful i wish ppl would respect the demise of these old buildings they are truly time capsules
your way of looking at things never ceases to amaze me you sir have a dark soul not that that is a bad thing a compliment my friend
when i was 18 yrs old i served a year on a 5 year sentence at ohio state reformatory the tiers and cells looked identical to this photo except at the reformatory the tiers were 6 high this was back in the 70s i have since learned that ohio had the dubious honor of having the tallest free standing cellblock in the u.s. it was closed in the 80s and they now have ghost tours there
coco i live right below jacksonville in palatka and have been exploring deserted buildings for years one word of caution a lot of buildings i have poked around in in your area are inhabited with street people so there is a certain element of danger please be careful as i have run across a couple that no matter how diplomatic i was tried to become violent but i am always armed with high quality pepper spray and have had to deploy it on a couple of occasions
very chilling and disturbing there is no way that a film maker could capture the despair and loss of hope that these photographs convey well done sir
great pictures
once we relegate people to a lower status than ourselves than it seems to be easier for us to justify the abuse and neglect of the less fortunate
