It wasn't only patients who suffered at these institutions, my mother worked in one in upstate NY for 25yrs. I remember asking on many occasions where the bite marks, scratches, gouges, and bruises came from. And always the same answer...the patients.

i was apart of the demolition crew who tore down dixmont. i was apart of the asbestos adbatment that had to be done before the building could be demolished. labor local 373 out of pittsburgh.

I worked in the state hosiptal in Evansville Indiana 4 30 years before it was toren down this year no one took pictures that I know of . It also was a place you did not want 2 wonder around at night.

one of the neatest places to go was on top of the morgue building. it was like the penthouse but filled with a bunch of old machinery. Great view of the ohio.

they should have never messed with that place. i was up there so many times and everytime i left i felt like somthing came with me. i hated that they tor it down to put up a walmart. i just hope now for the sake of things that all this has not been for nothing. was only caught one time out of 85 visits illegally.

you could see into the safe if you hoisted
yourself into the low celing right on the otherside of the tunnel room. this was in 99, Nothing was inside it was just a steel safe door not actually a full safe.
