Something like this should be in a museum. I never seen anything like it.

Fantastic picture. At least they removed alot of the furniture and whatever before they abandoned it; not like some other places.

I can't stand it!!!! There's a place called Eastern Penniteniary near Philly that gives tours. Al Capone was there.

I would really like to know how you find out about these places. I know of some from reading articles but some or most of these I've never heard of.

FANTASTIC!!!!!!! Would I ever love to get into this place; I mean just to look around, of course!
chopsuey, I don't know about moving prisoners when a jail closes, but when they do move them from one jail-state to another, I believe its usually done late at night, they don't even know their going until they wake them. They keep it quit so they don't have outside interference. I could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time.

i know this is a silly question but when they shut a jail do they move all the cons at the same time or a few at a time, imagine if they had to wait for everyone to finish their sentences first, how mad would that be....go on imagine it....go on.......

Besides the pink color, I think this room is SOOOO beautiful!! The dimensions of the room, the window(s) on each side of the fireplace, the paneling, etc. It is the wood flooring that gets me!!
~~wellcome into hell jail~~
