Thank you for the link to the Crudelle article. It appears sacreddarkness.com is no longer, and I have had trouble finding more than tiny tidbits regarding his work. Do you have any more sites or links that will lead me to information on his work, hopefully with pics. Thank you in advance.

There used to be an amazing rollercoaster down in Newport RI, (Second Beach) that has now been filled in with water and when the water is low you can still see the wooden coaster emerged in the water. So sad.

Hi Everyone. I am working on a documentary about Rocky Point and we are looking for people who worked at the park to talk to and/or interview. If there is any way that either Robert Cubellis or John Black or anyone else with "inside scoop" could contact us we would really appreciate it. I always become irate when they blame stuff like this on Satan worship. That's a load, and they know it. It was probably WalMart worship, more likely; a far more widespread and insidious form of worshipping the "dark side". >:-(

it still seemed to have that fun amusement park air to it even when it was closed...

but now its gone... all gone...

Fire @ the Cliff House on 10 News tonite - they did a walk thru of what's left of the park (sad).......Satan Worship a problem they're saying ? More like kids w/spray paint and little imagination I suspect.

i think its nice my friend lindsey thinks is awesome. we wish we can go but we dont know where it is well bye.

The name of this ride is the sky liner. My cousins and I would ride this midday . Then would eat at the Shore Diner Hall. Rocky Point Will Rise Again!!!

Hi Nance, I saw this. It is so sad that a great dark ride was left to rot. And worse is that a fire just broke out at the park and now they are ordering the demolition of the rest of the buildings and a developer plans to build high-end homes, condos on the site. When will it stop? Several seaside parks closed in the past several years for condo development. This year, Myrtle Beach Pavilion closed after 58 years for CONDOS and SHOPS! Florida's Miracle Strip Park at Panama City Beach closed in Sept 2004 after 40 years the owner Billy Lark sold the land for condo development the 1963 coaster was relocated to another park in FL to be rebuilt, the Bill Tracy Haunted Castle building was apparently demolished, but the track, carts and some props were sold to a guy in Alabama who uses them on a Halloween dark ride in a major city in Alabama. The rest of the castle props were sold to a fire company in Pensacola FL? I think for use in a haunted house.
