Ive been here back in the 1980's in my psychiatric rotation for nursing school. We were allowed in the main building and on the grounds with our patients if they had that privilege. These photos capture that eerie haunting feeling very well. Brings back memories for sure!

Not that I know of. It was a rumour but a lot of people still want to save the hospital as a hospital (not necessarily the Kirk). The proposed plan right now is to consolidate Worcester and Westboro and build a new hospital on these grounds.

I'm confused about that too...but I've been under the impression that the new hospital is part of the UMass complex that's slowly encroaching onto the old WSH campus. But the "new" one is actually in danger of closing as well.
