While surfing the net for an 'adult sized' crib, for my 5 year old foster son, this pic is all I can find...
The traditional medical beds, the sides are too low. He's able to sit up, lean over and fall out.
But I do get some good idea's for the carpenter! That's all the matters right? He's gets the beautfiul bed that I envision. :)
It looks like it may have had wheels at some point...I don't think examination tables often have wheels? (I may be completely off there). Its also in a room full of other beds...although we know we can't necessarily go by common sense in these places (there have been some odd things put in odd places!) I guess I will assume that it was a bed.
It just looks like a regular hospital bed that's been raised fully at both ends. I doubt if both the leg and head supports would have been extended at the same time when it was occupied, and the lack of a mattress makes it look pretty weird too.
You can see the handles that are connected to a long pole with a thread on the end... before the days of hydraulics and power assistance I suspect (poor nurses!)
The metalwork nearest the camera does look scarily like stirrups... but I think they're just mounts for the wooden baseboard which has fallen off.
Actually, we still use flouroscopy in the hospital all the time. A major difference is that our modern flouroscopes tend to emit less radiation because you can use it for literally seconds at a time, instead of leaving it on.
well my son is coming along good.. we just had his centeral line removed this week... and last feb (he was born on the 14th :) ) he started pre-school at age 3. he gets vision, PT, OT,Speach, 2 Sped Ed teachers.. thats from the school and then we also take him to PT,OT and speach (private clinics) he gets home schooling due to his still suppresed immune system
its sorta like someone hit the reset button on him, he is about a year to 18 months behind his age group.. but he is learning quickly... the only thing slowing his process down is that he is blind..
well y'know it's fine, if they didn't like being publicly bathed then they could just be beaten up and deprived of food. after all they did only have their patients best interests at heart ey!
