joshpine- if you hate drains, you'd really hate my favorite swimming hole. It's at the base of a big waterfall at an abandoned power station in Conway, MA. There is a big whirlpool under the falls, strong enough to drag you into it and to the bottom, but not so strong that you can't swim out of it when you need air. There's nothing so refreshing on a hot, humid day as to let a whirlpool suck you down to the bottom of a cold river! jasonpine, you also mention stepping into something gross in the lake. The same thing happened to me, except I was on these abandoned railroad tracks; I was looking ahead and suddenly my foot sank into something that immediately REEKED. I looked down and my foot was down inside a rotting dog! I can still remember it all too vividly!

For the people who wrote on this page and think its funny well they no common sense. Yes this place has been abandoned for many years yes people have been in and out of this place many times without a sign of disturbance but for the people who have seen things and came accross frightning objects its no joke anymore. You all do have to relize that people did stay in that building ane people did die in there and just one day you will go back expecting nothing to happen you just wait your time will come and when it does you write down everything that happened and ill say i told u so...........!!

Yes, it's still used for depression, no I wouldn't be surprised that the "mouth gags" were used for something other than ECT. But, hey, what do I know? Fortunately, my TB test came up negative last year. :oD

If you enlarged the view out of the window to print size and edited out any signs of the room, that too would be a beautiful photo... oh, wait, I gotta go! My oatmeal's burning!
Max is a sick twisted boy, man this place has so much too it already and i hate to think about kids dyeing, i know it happens but it aint right to make comments about it

To me the creepiest thing about this photo isn't the depth of the water or falling into it in the dark so much as the stagnant water itself, just sitting there, brewing, full of strange life forms that live in darkness....growing and thickening in the old, dirty water. A truly alien world in that hole!
