When I was in highschool (2000 graduate) from Bowie friends & I went thereas a joke; turned out to be NO joking matter. It was VERY DANGEROUS at night I couldn't see, fell into hole covered by gate & leaves. Needless to say we did have weird experiences, voices and saw a silouette of person on second floor. We definitely believe it is haunted!
i have heard that when u go near this wing there are children screaming and crying

If my mouth were gagged, a tap bell (or any other bell for that matter) would be quite handy.
Just a thought... if one had a device in their mouth to prevent them from harm and were administered short bursts of shocks for therapy, a cat collar with bells would do the trick nicely. OR sleigh bells during the Christmas season!

.... I'll prolly go to hell for that one... :-{}

How does tap bells and mouth gags relate to each other?
wrote:
Tap bells are the bells you see on the front desk of an old hotel where you only have to punch down once and they ring.

What does tap bells mean?

That may be the case in your area today, but if you check the references above you'll see that the term "mouth gag" was used for ECT procedures as well.
The piece of plastic that one uses in ECT is called a "bite-block". A "mouth gag" is an ENT instrument used to prop the mouth open during dental procedures. It would seem more likely that they were used for something besides ECT even in those days.
Yeah, alot of the labels in that room are wierd.
I've been in every building at the place, but the Narrows is by far one of the spookiest places to walk through. For one, the windows on the right look down on the Police trailor; so in the daytime you have to almost crawl. The doors on the left are medical supply rooms, with large glass cabinents and some lockers. Once, we broke an old padlock on the locker open, and inside were several patient smocks, with "Glenn Dale Hospital" and some numbers stamped on the front. It was freaky. Also, you can find old needles, test tubes, pills, etc on the floor. Definately one of the most unnerving parts of the hospital.
Why does everyone keep posting irrelevant comments to the picture. Everyone knows what death is, and everyone knows what a morgue is for. I've stood in the very spot that picture was taken; alone, because my group wouldn't go down the the second basement with me. If you want to make stupid comments about death or "Junior's slab", or try to criticize someone for making out of place comments...go find the morgue yourself, stand in front of it in half a foot of freezing water, alone with a flashlight. See how your thoughts and feelings change on the matter.
Climb the ladder running up the tallest inside part of the building. It goes to the roof and the catwalk.
