I don't care what nobody says.. there's something very odd & usual about this facility.
I live miles away from this place and every person I've interviewed seems to have some sort of story or 'word of mouth' they've come in contact with in prior years.
Not to mention, there are a handful of individuals that have explored the grounds and have something interesting to share. I don't think that many lies could be told. THERE IS SOMETHING VERY FISHY ABOUT THIS PLACE.
I read about this place in WEIRD Maryland. There's a picture of the facility's water tank, and a few other pix. Some weeks ago I was going south on 193 on a silver-gray afternoon & I eyeballed a holding tank that looked like the one in the book pic,, just floating over the tree line. I made two wrong right turns, trying to use my visual fix on the part of the tank that I could see from my car, befre I remembered that you have to access MD 450 to get to Glen Dale road. Once I turned onto this, the whole grounds loomed before me like a ghost town. I really thought that they'd torn it down by now....but....
It's wild, how it all just hangs there, like buildings in those spooky George DeChirico and other surrealist paintings. I just drove by, checking both sides of the road out from my car. I saw the police trailer that I've read about. I don't blame them for wanting to keep people out. The hospital suffered financially in its waning years as a useful facility, and the asbestos discovery was the last straw: everyone was ordered out then. The removal of this asbestos by qualified personnel and its safe disposal (OSHA regs are serious biz, y'all) would cost a mint for whoever finally wants to be responsible. People underestimate what happens to a structure after it's closed down, abandoned, the heat, water and AC are turned off and then it's left that way for decades. Deterioration progresses at an increased pace. Glen Dale hospital is, I'm sure, extremely dangerous to any visitors because of its advanced weakened state, and I wouldn't recommend any "casually curious Sunday afternoon" strolls and just plain nosing around this place. Also, I imagine that all the legends about this place are bunk, though the stories are good fodder for midnight around the deep woods campfire tell your best spooky stories outings. And the "ghost town" looks of this place are interesting. Cheers!! SMB
you should visit vod pod they have a video of this hospital. that's actually what led me to this website, cause the place kinda looked like an insane asylum i used to live by that is abandoned.
Jason-
My mom and aunt went into the hospital with their two dorky friends at night!!!! It was so creapy. They went up to the celing with only a flashlight. The two friends had a blue print and there were tunnels under the ground. My mom is so protective it freaked me out when she told me what she did. Jason don't do it. YOu'll get caught like everyone else. They got caught by a preacher and of course the cops.
I have herd so many stories off and on about glendale hospital, and i would love to go more then anything, since i have never been. but just like everyone els would rather not like to risk getting caught. does anyone know the place fairly to extremly well? i do have night vision goggles around my house some where that i could possibly take with my and my dad does alot of security work so i am flamiler with knowing where to look for that sorta stuff. but if anyone knows where the camers, sencors, and or other police things are please let me know i would love to plan a trip there.

and btw, when i went i found that hole too and uncivered it, i threw in some glow sticks, i saw them glide down for about 10 feet, and then they just dissapeared, i tell you what, it freaked me the fuck out, i left after that.
Which is it? I'm kinda curious and 4 feet and 10 feet are 2 totally different things
i use to live by the hospital probably like 5 mins away and any time i would pass the hospital i would get a weard feeling. o hope they make it a musem and fix it up that would be so cool
