That's an explorers' nightmare.

There's a pit like this in a location in MA, about the same size, my cohort stepped right over it without noticing. When i saw it with my flashlight, i actually couldn't believe he didn't fall in..i was like "holy shit!" lol
Gee! Why can't they put porches like this on regular hospitals nowadays? Or better yet, why don't they put them on hospices? I think that would be a great idea! Does anyone else agree?
YIKES! Now THIS is a scary picture to me! Motts, you always find the most interesting things to photograph.

Just ran across this place by accident. Didn't even know what town I was in. Call it what you want, but I call it haunted. Certain people are going to see, hear, and feel some very strange things there. Some of these people might act strange too. Some will get nothing out of it. Just because it didn't happen to you doesn't mean it didn't happen to others. I didn't even go in, just drove by. We almost went off of the road, the place was flooded, there was a white mist every where...and that was during the day! The people who go in there are very brave, but I fear for their safety....mental and physical. Two of us who drove by are now having nightmares. The buildings really should not be saved, I can't imagine for what use....who would want to be there? in a place where so many died and God knows under what conditions. The buildings need to be replaced with a park. Let nature heal the damage of man.

The cops use this area to party from time to time. You can 20-30 PG County cop cars parked outside it a couple times a year.

How is this place, is she still there or has the process to demolish begun? I hope she still stands, even if the conditions have gotten worse there.

Those are really cool lamps! Both up-light and reading light together in one.

Perhaps meals were kept warm or cool in these boxes. The staff could place the meal in from one side, then the patient/resident could access it from their room.

Aw God...that is horrible. Like watching the movie "Balto" where the wolf sees the carpenter building a kid-sized coffin.

I'll make sure and hug my nieces/nephews next time they come to visit.

Yeeuuuugh. I have visions of something awful coming out of that...and if that is a 'grinder pump, the "eww" factor is 100x worse.

If you're ever back there Motts please do try to drag a bed over that so there's SOME kind of barrier/warning before you just take a wrong step and fall in. This is why you always look where you're going while urbexing and never ever go without adequate lighting.
