did you happen to have any after effects from being in the building such as dizziness or feeling weakened and sick?
OK. my mistake. Killer find, though.
Could be part of one that has been stripped., although someone said it's to small to be one.....Still a killer pic, though. .

Very interesting, Mathue - thanks! Truckie will be especially interested in the second article, I think. And our Backy will want to go over there and start digging. ;-)

I have seen many of these units, it is a diesel generator. It looks to be a 4 or 6 cylinder Detroit Diesel. I know it's not any type of switching unit because there are not wheels. What looks like wheels are the feet of the stand it is sitting on.

It's far too small for an EMD 567 prime mover. It appears to be a very large inline 6, could be diesel. There appears to be a 'roots blower'. The exhaust suppressor is simply much newer than the generator itself.
Here's a better example, BTW, that's a model NW2 Switcher, which has been in use for about 50 years, IIRC, http://www.rr-fallenfl...g/ihb/ihb8814amr.jpg
Or it could be the engine from an old railroad switching engine. That's what it reminds me of.....http://www.rr-fallenfl...g/ihb/ihb8786amr.jpg
Almost looks like part of an old diesel switching locomotive. Way Cool.
I like this one, that door is very cool.
