It's decline was unprecedented in speed and depth following World War 2. Casualties of this urban train wreck included the loss of thousands of beautiful 19th Century Victorian homes & mansions, early Art Deco skyscrapers, beautiful Gothic churches, historic fire stations, beautiful Greek Revival school buildings, and millions of people forced to abandoned all the above. But the City is rising from the ashes and can become a world class economic powerhouse because of the lessons learned. I don't live in Detroit. But I know it's people and history.
