A couple of friends and I seen that the location was open to the public to explore but as we were walking down the stairs of the building we seen the cops and we went outside. The owner of the building was alarmed as soon as we stepped foot onto the property and she decided to press charges. I am writing about the Wheatley providence hospital to inform you that the building is NOT open to the public and could definitely be dangerous to be in (because its a very old building and currently under construction).

This amazing historic building is not an abandoned building. This building is currently in the process of redevelopment. This building holds incredible history. I would not advice trespassing, the police will be contacted right away. If interested however you can contact them at their website. https://www.wheatleyprovident.com/

This place was a haunted house through the 90's... I worked there in 1998. On our last night of the haunted house season, we partied in the pediatric ward. At that to.e, it still had pictures painted on the walls and old wooden cribs. We went down to the morgue too... Super creepy. Glad to see this place in your site!
Ohhh dear, - thanks jj - the wretchedness of useless destruction is saddening. Always thought this such a different and interesting little gem with all that unpainted wood.
Not so anymore, then.......
These doors have two hinges.
Some doors have three hinges.
Wonder why!

Maaaaan.. if you could see this place now.. you'd probably die of shock. I took photos myself. I with there was a way of showing them on here. Unfortunately, I took my 75-300mms lens on accident and didn't think different until I was already in kcmo. So I missed a lot of opportunities.

I went today and, man, this hospital is a LOT different now than compared to your pictures. The entire place is trashed and smells of wet wood. There are rooms on the ground floor filled with piles of toys. All of the walls are covered in satanic graffiti and otherwise mildly disturbing text such as "I f'd a goat here" or "watch your back, b****"... it's crazy how clean the place looks in your pictures. Even the shot with your dog's paw prints is wild... the very spot where the prints are is now covered by a collapsed steel door and small heaps of rubbish. A fellow photographer went a week or so ago and found human remains in the basement along with more satanic things. I couldn't get down there, though, as the door leading to it was blocked on the other side by a collapsed floor. That door, by the way, said "dont open or you'll die". I'm absolutely amazed by how different it is compared to your photos! Thanks for uploading these when you did, though. I'm glad these exist.
