It looks like a Huffy to me.
I had a blue one like that and rode it to death. It also looks like one of the pedals broke off that bike, like mine did too.

Mike, Maybe that's a more recent repair or paint job like the wall over the closed doors probably done at the same time.

The steam would have filled the radiators under pressure and the heat would have also traveled via conduction. As you can see the pipes were painted not insulated so they were meant to give off their heat as well as the radiators.
The condensate drain must have been done manually unless something like the old pressure valves that whistled has been broken off. Something that big I would expect the school maintenance guy had to remove the plug at the end of each winter and maybe even have the system blown out with air to make sure no water sat. Having water sit in the bottom of radiators or any part of a steam heat system severely lowers its efficiency.

I hate to see books left to waste away too. It is a shame that someone did not put them to use. They could be donated to the local public library, if they don't use them they would sell them. Just a shame and a waste.
Depending on what the area was like that this was in, it's too bad they didn't revamp it into affordable living space. I don't understand all the boarded up houses in certain areas or vacant buildings and yet there are so many homeless people. Doesn't make sense to me.
I actually still have one of these.
they look like graduation gowns like we had to wear for graduation (which I never understood why).
I think that lamp is just the base part and there was probably a large globe attached to it.

Mica. That light fixture probably had a glass globe on it and it was either broken or taken.
I remember when the black blackboards went to green blackboards! Learning was never the same!
I'm not sure, but I've read that steam heat has to have the pipes and radiators installed at a slight angle for just that purpose. And that pipe that goes across the top does look like it's inclined a little.
