There's something about a tattered curtain that speaks volumes of what this room once was and will never be.
:) Here I am...

Got busy again but I had to make time to check this out (I peeked at this gallery the other day)...

What a quaint little building.
I see the railings are gone, which makes me wonder how ornate they were or was it just for the scrap value.

Lets see... a hive, a deflated punching bag, a pod, a prune, a fake wasp nest....this is so interesting and funny....lol. and no one mentioned a old dried up hemorrhoid... just had toooooooo! :)
Thank you Mr. Motts. I hope you never get tired of hearing that--because I never get tired of saying it.
It does look like a hornet's nest--or a large puffball fungus.
Are the colors in this shot a result of film temp. or lighting, or just a happy accident?

In any case, it's a great shot.
Ubiquitous soap dish.
I'd hate to have to fight a fire in an old structure like this. Too many places for fire to spread in the internal spaces and never be seen until a firefighter fell through the floor. Of course I'm guessing that is why the Feuer Wehr decided to let it burn.

This room was on the top floor; the sloping ceiling is the roof line.

It was especially difficult to tell what purpose rooms served due to the many renovations and changing function of the campus over the years. I would imagine the original room was larger, if not the entire top floor being a later addition.
This would make a good book cover ..

I think it's awesome that there is a cross in the window.

It tried to escape but the vines got it!
