Ward "A" had 3 levels. A-3 was the "violent ward." In the late 60's when i worked ayt Danvers, the A wards were male admission wards. I worked on A-2 ans A-3. I was also told I was the first full time male employee of A-3.

growing up in hamilton,ma. danvers state was part of my childhood memories. part scary , always fascinating. my friends and i did our own exploring of the grounds and also volunteered for 1 yr with the children who lived there. loved your photos, thanks
