I can answer it for you, I was just up there the other day. The only thing still standing, is the shell of the Administration Building. The inside is gutted. Every other building, sadly, is now an up to date condo. So sad.

hey Ed, did soap ever come out of the lightbulbs?

somewhat, what is still standing is what i believe to be the administration entrance and the wings to the left and right , however its just the shell . they more than likely filled in all the tunnels. they will build around the original brick

So you're saying some of the buildings are still standing and they're making them into condos? And there are still tunnels running under the buildings?

Wow, you actually WORKED there?? For some reason, I'm always drawn to the Danver's site. Maybe because of Session 9, I don't know. So tell me, does anyone know if ANYTHING is left standing there anymore?? Or is everything gone by now?

I lived next to this building at the Ferncroft Condos... moved there from Calif and went to art school in Beverly. I used to drive up there from time to time. It was still occupied. One time in the fog (like in the pic) I saw a kid about 14? with red hair and an Indian headdress creeping up the hillside toward the graveyard I think... it was definitly a place to feed an artists "eye".

from what i saw today the front entrance and part off the front wings are not condos yet. i also think they are high priced the real estate market is tough around here.i dont think anyone is living up there yet.
All I can think of is "Session 9"......
Isn't this already condos? I heard they were pretty high priced. Anyone out there living in one? Now it is called Avalon Danvers.

on my way to see a client today i had to drive up the hill , it is a shell of its former self . i was shocked to see the water tower is still there , and while its a shell of its fomer self i was still fasinated , i would love to check it out at night. its still a very cool looking and grand building , i was not bothered by anyone and i wad maybe 50 feet from the main kirkbride.
acuteward and isabeats - I occasionally have a similar situation. I don't wake up and run around screaming though. What happens to me is I know I am sleeping and I am trying to wake up. The odd part is it's as if I can see the room around me, but I can't move. And the scary part is there is a terror associated with it that I can't explain. I am just glad it only happens to me once every 2 - 3 months.

Right. This is a regular bathtub. In the late 60's there was a hydrotherapy room at Danvers with canvas covers on the tubs that were used to contain the patients in an ice bath or hot water. However, to my knowledge, no hydrotherapy was used when I worked there. 1968-71
I loved picking the brains of old time employees who were working there at the time.
