The place was painted in a lot of pastel colors. Lead pain not so much. It was there certainly, but it wasn't used a lot on the interior. Asbestos was the major culprit at the Hathorne Hilton

You can't get lead poisoning just from breathing around lead paint.

Well it's obvious to me that chair migrated a tad during it's life. We didn't use them in the Kirkbride building. I'd say off hand that chair ia on an A-ward. The joint was way too active for patients with physical disabilities that had to do with mobility. So that chair has moved from the Bonner to the Kirkbride coutesy of the Movie people or some UE'r. For all I knowit's in someones attic by now.

I Can't believe those stupid developers wouldn't save this beautiful peice of workmanship in the remodel. I bet you it was discarded wastefully when demolition commenced. Disgraceful

The cases there were many and each had a story to them. The patients there ranged from drunks peeled off the streets to heirs to fortunes. Despite the stories every one was an individual there, not just a number. My dad took me up there many times. He worked there, as did I many years onward.
I have always been interested in Danvers state Hospital. My father as a little girl use to threaten me he would drop me off if I wasn't good. The mental patients (some) could sit outside and watch the cars go bye. I always watched for them and wanted to visit that place even now. I would like to know of the cases and why they were there. I search for cases and never rest in my mind about that place. Jackie

At one time there was a morgue. It was in the Bonner building. Once they contracted the funerals out., the morgue was tuned into the snack bar. There may have been a morgue in the Kirkbride I don't know it was prior to 1948 when my dad started there. Funerals there were pretty primitive early, on plain wood box and sheets for a shroud . Kinda done on the cheap you might say
