When I was a little kid (ten years ago-ish), whenever my mother and I would drive into Boston, we'd pass the Danvers State Hospital, and she'd tell me to turn around, because that was the only way that you could get a good look at it, perched up on the hill, creepy as hell. If I was being obnoxious, which was most of the time, my mother would threaten to drop me off at "The Danvers Nuthouse," as she ignorantly referred to it as. Needless to say, I behaved very well after her "threats." Just the sight of it sitting on the hill was enough.
If I had been able to see what it looked like on the INSIDE when I was ten.........
When they closed off sections they decided to shut off the heat to those areas. But they left the water on, so the pipes froze and broke flooding the floors with tons of water.
Is the water towers sister still in place across the valley at the site of the TB hospital? Did you go in thr tunnels? Rumor was the tunnel went across to the TB hospital and there was a bomb shelter in the valley between the two. I have been in the TB tunnels but didnt go far down them. Do you remember the TB hospital? They tore it down in the early 70's
It really would never happen. I'm too much of a chicken to go in any buildings like that. I went into an abandoned house once, and it was a disturbing experience. I let Motts go in the buildings and I look at his wonderful pics.
Motts very nice job, very nice indeed, one question, DO THEY LET CAM-CORDERS AND OTHER ELETROIC DEVICES IN? (start's shaking like a little fat kid in a candy shop)
If you aren't joking, you might want to consider beginning to discern the line between reality and the theater; to speculate such a story is kind of a slap in the face to the people who worked and lived here.
Motts, have you by any chance try'ed using a tape rocorder (sorry about the spelling) to see if you could find any spirits, or even a cam-corder or something like a video recorder? just a thought, i want to try it out in that place.
