I always wanted a house with a tower on it.
The basement looks in better shape than some of the rest of the place. When usually the basement is the worst because it's usually got moisture issues.
That brick work reminds me of when I used to build things with those "American Plastic Bricks" as a kid, you'd get the same kind of effect with the white and red bricks.
This place must have been magnificent in it's day. It's magnificent NOW.
Even that scalloping around the windows, I can't get over how every area is detailed with some kind of design.
I would have picked up that window that's on the floor and tried to put it back in place, just to keep the elements out.
That band around the ceiling almost looks like there was trim of some sort there that was ripped off. Were the floors brick or concrete too?
ohmygod. . . I would love to live in a place like this!
Where on earth do you find these places? This place is gorgeous, I can't believe it is just left vacant and hope the do rehab it at some point.

No wonder the first family ran out of money. They even did their granary in crazy, ornate style.. very beautiful, but very expensive I'm sure.

Love the windows. It's a pity there was nothing more inside. Such beauty outside would lead you to believe, at one point, the inside must have been very nice as well.

The amount of thought and care that went into designing such a beautiful building is amazing!! Sad it has fallen on hard times.
