In the left of the image it looks as though part of the wall caved in was this a bricked in doorway? Do you now if this room was re-purposed when the building was occupied by soldiers?

Wow, they took the time to frame in and enclose the undersides of the stairs and put that wonderful fresco detail on. The lower left door looks like it has a really steep staircase, hidden in the shadows. I guess the banisters were wood and taken by someone.
