I mentioned the movie "Willie Wonka And The Chocolate Factory" earlier, and this shot reminds me of at the very end when they are in the glass elevator going over the whole town...that was actually filmed in Munich in 1970 and it was filmed partially at the Munich Gaswerks. This makes me think of a painting I once saw. It might have been from Escher, I don't remember but it was eerily similar to this.
