I too have lots of memories of this room. I remember playing bball, and singing on the stage. I remember feeling almost normal when I was here.... The reality of the wards always came back though.

To 'Was There' If memory serves me correctly, I was there 1990 until a couple months before it closed in 1992. Thank god my stay was short. I remember the scramble of trying to place everyone in other locations when they were planning on closing the doors. I was sent to a residential treatment facility in Baldwinville from here. I would love to talk to any of you alum that know exactly how I feel about this place.
this is by far my favorite picture. i can't help but laugh at everyone saying how sick this picture is. i think its rather hilarious.

This is the seclusion room I remember... Yes, I was there. I've been thinking alot about this place lately... Just can't erase it from my mind. It's been 20 years since Gaebler... But I am still haunted.
I remember Nap too! Besides the maple sugaring, we used to pick milkweed pods and cook and eat them too. His class was a truly bright spot to the week!
I remember roller skating in there too. The skates were kept just inside to the left. I also remember singing on that stage during a show one time. We had fun in that room.

I was there yesterday (3/21/09). The windows to the left where most of the light comes from are all boarded up, so it's pretty much pitch black. The room through the door on the left has fake blood splattered on it and is covered in ceiling tiles and trash. The walls have a lot more graffiti, specifically the elephant has a swastika on it's forehead as well as a penis.

John. I liked your story about sneaking into the girls area. It made me laugh and I thought it was adorable. Any more fun stories like that? Was there a lot of romance in there? (:
