Last place any body wasnts to call home, Especially when the door slams and you know you are there for awhile.
This is the type of prison you see in the old movies...not the new fancy ones with the gyms and such. This was pretty hard time! These are awesome shots.

Interesting, thanks Motts! I can't imagine not having a window (again, the claustrophbia) but I guess these people were paying the price for a crime...

The cell blocks in this prison were built in the "big house" style, where the block was contained inside the center of a larger structure, creating a barrier between the inmate's quarters and the outside world. So no, the rooms did not have any windows themselves.

Cool gallery, Motts! I agree, two galleries in a month, LOVE it! Thank you for yet another great gallery!

At first I thought this was some kind of, I don't know what, with tiny drawers. Really cool the way the paint is peeling!

I agree with Toot, it's cool where the light from the windows hits. :)

I do too, the colors are great.
Mr. Motts, were there any windows in those cells? There doesn't appear to be. I was just wondering if it was just this cell block or the entire place. (My claustrophobia is kicking in.....eeek!)
i thought all the snow this year would have made a bunch more skylights in the frail roof here.
