Mother Superior gave both palms of my hands a solid smack with her 18 inch oak ruler.

And I cried as I sat alone in the attic to ponder the error of my ways as the Catholic Guilt weighed down heavy upon my soul in the tenth year of my life.

My money's on the chapel theory. the windows are brightly lit so maybe south facing? This would make the stage (alter end) at the east, where most catholic alters are oriented. also it seems like two rows of pendant lights that would have been above two rows of pews.
Absolutely beautiful! Like something out of a fairy tale.

This is truly an amazing site. I have gone through many of the galleries over the past year or so and find them deeply moving and very beautiful. Images such as this one are so artfully arranged and prompt such an instant, nearly visceral reaction.
Thank you!

Something straight out of your average fantasy novel, I'm sure. I agree--I'd love a wallpaper making use of it.
