395 Comments for Connecticut Valley Hospital

I was a head nurse then a nursing supervisor at VH for many years and always admired the beautiful old majestic buildings.
I had several opportunities to explore the abandoned buildings and only have the visions in my head. There was so much besides the buildings left behind. Lives, possessions and the unspoken or written. So sad but very eerie especially at night when I traveled from building to building, Always avoided going in the tunnels that attached all the buildings. There was also an over head tram for taking patients from building to building. The old stage theatre was gorgeous. There were many elegant buildings. Wish I had photos of all I saw that is now gone.

I dream of a room like this.

Collars Handkerchiefs Napkins Towels
Real Old School
It is but a cell.
It is the Universal Magic of The Chair with Mankind
- we do leave a Chair behind, all the time, for YOU.
May be you are tired?? Have A Seat.
We also leave pianos - have some music + play, now -
but for another reason, hahaha

..but those LAMPS! How can they still be there?
What a mess...
Yeah, Virginia Wilson - so often i think hard about this also
- and then i give up.....as organizing it, and the shipping event, is so difficult + expensive - and you need a reciever.
How could it be done?
Yeah...
and the curtains still there...and that wide door with THREE HINGES and all the glass; is a friendly door. Looks like this was a good room.
Wow this would bring on permanent mental issues if left in this room, I shudder to think this was someone's room.
