The substance on the floor looks to me like the foam from a busted pillow.

I looked through some of my old operating/surgery manuals and found that it is a twin bottle apparatous for providing gastrick suction. the two bottles would rotate upside down. the passage of water from the opper to the lower bottle produces suction the patient would be conected to it via the Miller- Abbott tube

Horrible? I think it's gorgeous! All they build nowdays is square-edged boxes, but the Northampton is pure art.

to Mark ~ Why would anyone want to deface such a hauntingly beautiful place with grafitti? Would you "tag" the Mona Lisa or the statue of David? Puzzling & sad.
