Oh I remember that photo with the "shooting" stars! Thanks! Now I am getting my bearing here! I knew I had seen these buildings before...the arches that you said was the dining room stand out in my mind clearly.
I think it might be the patients - vandals use spray paint usually. Makes you wonder - was the patient here 14 years or where they 14 years old?
Gorgeous shelves - beautiful woodworking. And the chest on the second floor (that by rights we shouldn't be able to see from this room!) is also beautiful. How did they stay so pristine when the rest of the room was falling down around them?
One of my favorites - I love staircases!
They sure did design beautiful buildings. All the arches are so elegant looking.
I love those high ceilings and huge windows. Wouldn't want to paint them tho.
I think that is actually the porches. They always look like an afterthought.
He teleports Lucie!!
Lizzie I don't think you would want to sit there during the day either..that floor is looking rather dodgy lol. I would think twice lol. But the stained glass is gorgeous!
Motts takes only pictures and leaves only footprints.

Was there anything comparable along the rest of the exterior walls? If the walls outside of the porches lack this, then that would be a pretty good indication that this indeed the work of patients and not vandals post-abandonment.

They left quite a bit of confidential records in that old hospital even after that.

Yeah, come to think of it, I'm not seeing any of the signs of water damage that I usually see on brick facades.

I imagine this rubber material is more resilient to decay than other kinds of padding, and the craftsmanship put into the construction was excellent, as a sloppy job might create a dangerous situation (such as the material peeling off, revealing a sharp edge or wall fastener). The building itself is in excellent condition, and only recently abandoned (circa 2001).

Any idea how far it was to the first quasi-intact floor? All the way down to the basement?
