wanderer- YES I was thinking he could too!! he seems to know what's up!! Yes, very possible, I'm just so curious about why there was a sub basement so many flights down in the science building, and why the bloody handprint was there. Like I said, we only went about 20 ft into the sub basement-after we saw that bloody handprint, we booked it out of there!! Also, the other picture/ board I posted on is that of the black and white photo of the exterior of Bennett under the "close calls" photo set.

hey guys, just clearing it up so people actually respond to me: some guy called me out as a spammer on the other board, but my computer was just posting the same message again as I refreshed my page. So, no spammer lol. Still looking for info on my last post tho!! :)

so just gonna get that out there now as to not confuse anyone: I am not a spammer, just made a mistake.

Hello everyone, I went here yesterday with my friends and I am sparked with curiosity. We explored basically all buildings, but the building that intrigued us the most was the science building. We explored the top level first and then discovered the basement. We kept thinking the stairs would stop at a certain point but they just kept going, there must have been at least 7 or 8 levels of stairs going down with no doors on any level. At this point, we were below the actual basement, I'm assuming the sub basement. When we reached the sub basement, it was extremely dark and we were terrified of going too deep into the dark hallway. We walked around a bit down there and something instantly caught all of our eyes- what I am positive was a bloody hand mark dragged across the wall. I am sure it is blood because of the rusty-brown/red color it appeared that is the color that blood appears when it is dried, and the marks were unmistakably a hand. After we saw that, we immediately left because we were so afraid. I am very intrigued as to what may have happened in the basement and sub basement level of that building, and it made me wonder why there would be an area so far below the actual building. I didn't explore the rest of that basement/ sub basement level and we were left very intrigued. If anyone has any information at all, I would love to hear it.

wanderer, we will find something, another great relic of a time gone by to get into long chats on & hear insight by people close to them. However, it'll be nothing like Bennett, nor will it have pat ratchet or Celeste to give such wonderful commentary on the place.

pat, I have enjoyed your posts on this place, you I believe, have become the heartbeat of Bennett & keep her alive. Keep up the good work & I look forward to your next post. They are a joy to read.

No, astral project, it never had any links to a nunnery of any sort. This was not family house, but a prestigious women's college. It went bankrupt in the late 1970's and closed.

Sorry to burst your bubble, Trevor, but the place is not haunted. Never was. Since no one ever died there. What you heard was the building collapsing on itself and bits falling down. As buildings deteriorate, they make noises. Read Celeste's post of 11/05/12
For any Opacity Admin. I am told the error on clicking the forum link; Table '.\opacity_forum\smf_sessions' is marked as crashed and should be repaired
Is repaired In phpMyAdmin area of the cPanel, running the following query
REPAIR TABLE smf_sessions

I don;t know what that means but if you are Admin I suppose you do :-)

Wow! What a lot of interesting information! Got to admire Pat for all his hard work on Ware. I'd love to read the book and any websites that pertain. A true labor of love! Same for Christina and all her work on putting Bennett stuff together. Interesting to see when all this comes together. Same for wanderer. Hope Halcyon can hang in there a little longer.
Christina, there is an interesting site called Hudson Valley demolition. Halcyon is mentioned in 2010, but nothing since. I keep looking there for updates. Are you familiar with this site?
I've been here for a while also. Take care.

have been on this board a few years and hold my breath it'll make another year - when it finally goes- what will we talk about then
Pat Freaking Ratchet, I just have to say, you're so cool haha.

I can't tell you how excited I am for your project! I can totally understand how you feel about protecting yourself. I have to do the exact same thing ,but so far (knock on wood) everyone has been wonderful.

The funny thing is, I wanted to attend that speech ,but I was out of state so it wasn't possible. I have been constantly checking the website hoping for it's return. I had no idea that was you! Now I know not to bother checking anymore.

If you need any present day photos or if I have something that you're interested in, just say the word and it's yours.

Wanderer, I've been following the Millbrook Independent about the demolition, nothing is in the works. The interior is VERY bad so I really don't see it making it through another winter. Then again, I said that exact same thing last year while I was inside filming.

Anyway, Doc update: We traveled to CT to film another alumni ,and she was just a beautiful person. I feel very fortunate to have spoken with her. I'm learning so much about Bennett's past ,and I can't wait to share it will all of you.

Hey Pat, glad to know the blue prints actually exist. I hope to see them someday. But if it isn't a huge inconvenience could you send me a crude sketch of the basement and sub basement floor plans? I don't need measurements, just the basic idea of where things are. I'm sort of OCD about this lol.

and thanks again for all the info you have provided thusfar~

PS: The security question asked me, "What does not belong: nurse, fish, bed, hospital" and while I know it is "fish" I believe most hospitals have a tendency to serve fish as food. Just something to think about.
