I love this site. I spend hours here just looking at amazing photography. As long as I can remember, I've had a fascination with old, abandoned buildings. But I also love the comments & humor. It makes the site seem like home.

This medical building is gone; I believe the administration building still remains, not sure if anything else.

The detention center was taken over by Western State School and Hospital in 1962, which was a residence for the developmentally disabled. This building, constructed specifically for Western State, was essentially a fully equipped hospital to care for the most infirm residents.

Police and fire departments practiced in here. There were shot shells and bullet casings all over the place.

Although the internal wiring of this device has advanced throughout the years, what is now used currently maintains much of that structure. What I wouldn't give to tag along sometime.
