I do not like the tags, the fires, the trash, or the broken windows. The pictures are great, but the vandalism is appalling. We should take better care of these wonderful monuments to our cultural and scientific history.
but its sad they let a place like this go to waste.. because it could have helped some people see how it was like to be in some state hospitals and this one was shut down because of lack of money.. such a shame
yes i agree with angel.. and another thing is this place is haunted beyond belief.. and i couldnt imagine what some of the people went thru because they did not understand the mental health.. and the trephening i heard about man.. who would wanna drill a hole in someones head to release the demons
*shutter*
it would be so cool to get an EVP from Byberry.. and the graffit no offense but what do you expect from some people from the philly area.. they have no respect for history.. and so many gangs and all down there.. so sad
I work in a state run Psychiatric Center in another state not to far from PA & sadly what most of the people entering these buildings (mainly kids to hang out & drink) don't realize is that they are ALL aspestos insulated & all that dust , debris & paint chips have aspestos fibers in it...Leaving them open to aspetosis & mesophilioma...all of our closed buildings at my facility are marked with this info were these buildings?
Um... asbosts...?? Pacle? Ugh... does opacity.us cause certain brands of keyboards to malfunction in the comment section? Because I have noticed a WHOLE LOT of amazingly indecipherable text on here. Wow.
Years after the fact and obviously shunning the graffiti comments, I did want to comment that the placement of the candle is awesome. I just dig it: the picture, the ambiance, everything. Too bad this place is no more! :-(
