Motts' images seem to capture more than just the scenery in front of the camera, kind of a surreal feeling of what is must have been like before the decline of some of these places. Other Urban Exploration sites' photos have a one dimensional feel to them after viewing Opacity, great job Motts.

An artist I knew died after falling through the floor of an old abaondoned railroad engine repair facility. His brother held him for the last five minutes of his life - there was no time for an ambulance. Be careful in old structures.

That said, people have died for things less worthy than art.

Barbara, I skimmed some of the info on Mr. Witkin. If I remember correctly ( after I hastily exited one of his sites while screaming), he gets permission from people working at morgues (not in our country) to use their...um..."people" for props. He may be brilliant to some, but his work leaves a me with a mental bad taste.

i had the oppertunity to walk the grounds of Pilgram state, been in and out of some of the building, seen alot of things worth talking about. i also seen an un marked grave yard,been in the tunnels underground, i could write a book with all the stories,a matter of fact a small time producer from south hampton made a B-movie around some of the stories it was aired on the IFC channle any one who wants some more info let me know
