This reminds me of the remnants of middle eastern war zones that are being so frequently splayed across the airways on CNN these days, usually with some poor arab child squatting in the corner, When i see this, i expect to see a weeping mother kneeled over her dieing child on that matress in some sort of hospital ruin.

I have only recently started looking through this site. I am thoroughly addicted. I think the black-and-whites are scarier BECAUSE all the color is taken from them. It is gives a more stark appearance, and, as you said, Randar, a more ominous, look. It can also be more beautiful, sans color...

I would be far too tempted to stick my hand out and wave at them... But then, that's why I'm sitting here looking at these beautiful images, and not taking them. (Though I do know of a couple of very interesting looking old asylums in NC...)

It looks like it is bleeding from being ripped from the wall, great horror-flick material.

The tiles look like glass, yet another fabulous illusion created by reflecting waves of light, but arent all images?
