BKW - that "pile" looks just like that. . a pile! Hard to tell if it's dog or human but either way it's gross. I do like the wide-plank floors though. I wonder if they were covered at some point with carpet, hardwood or linoleum?
Yes, there were controls on the right, and an accordion-style gate was folded up on the left; all the light in this photo comes from the gap between the walls. The gap in the floor seems to just be covered with detritus.
Yes............BKW Ontario......concur...
Light is pretty, corner is pretty, window is pretty, two-tone wall is pretty, legged sink is pretty, .....but: - plumbing is aweful! Really UGLY!
Now HOW??
We will never know what happened.
Done later?
I did manage to track down an old 'Smith-Clarke Alligator type' Iron Lung and the people who were looking after this piece of medical history allowed me to get in it for a little while. It was not switched on but those few minuets inside the thing that had caused me nightmares for fifty years laid a ghost to rest for me. Don't get me wrong, they still scare the living daylights out of me but I can now handle the fear a lot easier. Exposure Therapy does work!
Hard to tell the condition of an item by just seeing a picture of it. Due to regulations it is often difficult or even impossible to sell or donate some used medical apparatus. I think items like wheelchairs and various non-mechanical or electrical things are easier to donate, but it varies somewhat from state to state I've been told.
Was this an elevator? I look at the floor closely and i do not note a Crack in the floor that would indicate it would go up or down. Could you let me know. These pictures are phenomenal, honestly with today's children destroying everything they come in contact with especially with graffiti/busting walls/windows this place is actually in tract.
