Motts, I've been coming to this website for what seems like almost a decade and a half, and you never cease to amaze me. Phenomenal work. Great shots. You've really managed to preserve what once was and what now is. Excellent.

Yes this gallery is making me sadder, too. I live in Virginia but was working in Houston at the time and living in a hotel. I vividly remember evacuees moving into the hotel and their 'shell shocked' expressions. As I'm looking at these photos, I keep wondering if some of the children I met in the hotel went to school here...sat at those desks...made those handprints...and how are they now?
