Yes this gallery is making me sadder, too. I live in Virginia but was working in Houston at the time and living in a hotel. I vividly remember evacuees moving into the hotel and their 'shell shocked' expressions. As I'm looking at these photos, I keep wondering if some of the children I met in the hotel went to school here...sat at those desks...made those handprints...and how are they now?
