Those of you who guess coal or better yet, coke, are correct. Many english fireplaces weren't meant for wood.

i know that copper yeilds a higher scrap rate then reg metal, as ar as the asbestos,my bf is a heating tech and when he does abaitments the asbestos is usally contained to the furnace and duct work, sometimes tho it is in the walls as an insulation... so pulling copper pipes as long as theyre not wrapped in asbestos should be relativly safe.(I know i cant spell please dont pick on me)

what was the chalkboard used for? i see the words chopped and whole was it for medications?

Here in Ontario Canada we have those ciggarette warnings but we also have lovely pictures to accompany them, such as rotting teeth, lung tumors, a baby hooked up to a respirator...ect...

Is this the same crate from the B&W shot a couple pictures back? Did you move that one to this location or is it a different crate?

all i can think of is "the shining" did they film any part of it here? I thought they might have, idk

i watched that "rubber johnny" thing last christmas eve with my cousins. i wasn't as much freaked out as i was "weirded out". at least it was christmas eve so i wouldn't have slept any ways. hehe

those plants look so brittle, if you touch them they will crumble to dust. eerie, yet at the same time brilliant!
